3 year old son LOVES this toy
Bought for my almost 4 year old for christmas. He is always stealing my tools to “fix” things. As a quintessential little boy he loves cars and motorcycles. He LOVES this and it’s one of the presents that a few weeks later he still enjoys taking apart and putting back together.
Endlessly fun and the quality is AMAZING!!
My four year old son adores this toy. He spends so much time taking it apart and putting it back together in different ways, and he only rarely needs my help with anything.
Great car for teaching fine motor skills!
This little car is pretty cool! my husband is a mechanic for the state dept and my youngest son is always wanting to use the drills and tools like his daddy. This little devices lets them feel like they are actually taking apart the car and putting it back together. The only con to it is that you have to take the car apart to turn it off…otherwise it keeps making sounds… I wish there was an off switch on the bottom of the car so once it was put together my son didn’t have to take it apart just to turn it off..
Buy it. It’s worth it.
I agree it’s annoying you have to take the car apart to turn off the engine noises but that small annoyance is outweighed by seeing your little one put this thing together over and over and over with such an intense expression like they are seriously working on a real car! The little screwdriver really works (no issues with reverse), perfect for little hands and I don’t think they can do any real damage to other stuff with it. I loved this, my kid loves it. Great idea.
Particular parts…be sure child has patience to fit them in.
So many configuration options here and my 3 year old LOVES it. He’s constantly change the stuff around.
This is a great toy. Our grandson
This is a great toy. Our grandson, just a few months shy of being 4, played with it endlessly when we gave it to him. It didn’t take him long to master the forward and reverse on the drill, and he enjoyed replacing the wheels while racing it. It is quite substantial and, blessedly, requires adult help in turning the sounds on and off! We had no referrals when purchasing it–my wife just thought it looked like something he would enjoy. It surpassed our expectations, and we would recommend it highly.
Favorite Birthday Gift, Hands Down.
I bought this car for my son’s third birthday. He is very tactile and enjoys figuring out how things work, so I loved the idea of giving him something that he enjoys (cars), along with the opportunity to strip it down and put it together piece by piece. He forgot all about his other birthday gifts and played with this very intently for the first two and a half hours out of the box. It was easy for him to pick up on which button tightens and which one loosens, and I appreciate that all of the pieces have a resting point so he doesn’t have to hold them in place while he’s assembling. We’ve had the toy for about a week now and he runs in when he gets home each day and grabs it to take it apart and put it back together, again and again.
3 things are really annoying about this toy. First with the side strips on the roof is difficult to screw in. I had to press the roof down to let the screw catch. Second the motor should of just been built in and have the switch come out the base. I thought I’d leave it on since she’ll probably play with the car more now than taking it apart. I didn’t realize just how annoying the noises would be while just putting it together. The third problem is also annoying. There is only one drill bit so they should of just had it one piece. The drill bit is extremely loose so it kept falling off.
Sturdy. Worth every penny
My 2 year old loves cars and building. This toy had enough to keep him interested for 2 hours the first time he opened it. He is now 3 and still plays with it all of the time. It took me a few minutes to figure it out! I think kids who have that engineer heart/mind at an early age would love it. My 8 year old thinks it’s great too! It’s sturdy and really great. I usually don’t like most toys out today but this one is definitely a hit.
He loves tools so I knew he would like this. And he does
Gave this to my nearly 4-yr. old grandson for Christmas. He loves tools so I knew he would like this. And he does! Loves to take it apart, put it together, and play with it, using good imagination. From my standpoint, I appreciated that everything was included in the box – including the batteries which was a real perk. I mean, most every toy makes you supply the batteries and in the hectic holiday season, it’s easy to forget and heaven help you if you don’t have the right size on Christmas morning! The car is well-made and the drill to put it all together has held up well (I’m writing this review more than 4 months after Christmas). I recommend this toy car kit without reservation!
