This leaf rake is one of the better products that I have bought for use on our pool. Granted, it is just a leaf rake and granted, it is pretty simple, but the design is good and it does what you want it to do..rake the leaves off the bottom of the pool (in addition to skimming them off the top). We have a pool out in the country and the pool area is surrounded by trees (good planning right). We have to remove leaves everyday and twice on Sunday :). Regular leaf catchers do not work on the bottom near as well as this Swimline 8040. The flattened lip on the front actually acts as a scoop and slips right under the leaves and flows them into the deep bag. The only reason I don’t give it five stars is that it doesn’t come with a person to actually do this job for me.
Best net ever!!!!
I wish we had ordered this sooner. We have had several nets of this nature over the years and none of them are even close to as easy to use, well-made and as effective at removing leaves and salamanders, dirt and all of the other things that end up in the pool as this one. It literally takes a quarter of the time to use this to clean the pool as it did with any other net we’ve ever had. We used to have so much difficulty getting the net to flip inside out and get all of the material out of it, this is effortless. It is made of a different material than any of the others we’ve had. The design is heavy duty and large and is made perfectly to go along the bottom of the pool and pick things up. We get a lot of salamanders and earthworms in our pool that are alive need to be safely removed. The design of the net creates a current as you move towards these delicate little creatures and it pops them up and into the net safely without the danger of running them over with it. It also just makes removing them go so much faster as it is sometimes difficult to catch salamanders or frogs and this net makes it effortless. We love it!
Very fine mesh net
This is a great leaf debris pool net. It will keep sweeping up debris without having to dump the contents every other minute. This is very fine mesh net and got most of the gunk out of the water. Granted it won’t get that fine pollen that seems to dump in our pool, but I am convinced there isn’t a pool net that is fine enough for that. The flat side will scoop stickes and stones easily off the pool floor Ours lasted for 3 and half years. And before you say that it should last longer, let me tell you we abused that thing. Constantly leaving it in the sun. We hauled heavy toys, the pool sweep when it falls off the hose, piles of heavy leaves. I think they kids probably picked up towels someone chucked in the pool and they were to lazy to jump in and get the towel. Anyway I am back ordering another sweep and we promise to be nicer to it and not feed it after midnight. Oh wait that is teenagers you don’t feed after midnight.
$15 pool net that does what it is intended for
First impression is that this net is great. It serves the simple purpose of being able to scoop up all the leaves and debris that falls into my pool. What more is a pool net supposed to do? The net is very deep – unlike the “skimmer” that I made the mistake of buying before which only had a depth of about 1-2″ – so it allows me to clean the pool entirely without having to empty the net and without the annoying issue of having the stuff you scooped up come out of the net and back in the pool.
