I had a trip planned to Universal Studios to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I was told that the robes there cost over $100 and wanted to save a little money by purchasing the robe here. I read the countless reviews about there being two different robes sold, a “good” robe and a “bad” robe. I am fortunate to say that I ended up with the good robe! Yes, complete with the embroidered Gryffindor emblem. To assure I was ordering the correct robe, I looked to make sure the product description said “fleece”.

Good for small adults

I needed a robe to complete my halloween costume and was having a hard time finding one last minute that still looked ok. I’m 5′ 3″ and it fit pretty well, just a tiny bit short for my liking. It’s a fleece material which is nice and cozy, I’ll probably keep it in my office to use when I’m cold at work :).

My daughter loves it!

My daughter loves this robe. It is nice and thick, and pretty durable for the price. I would definitely buy it again.

There are two different quality robes being sold, same photos used

This is misleading, since these are actually two very different products.

Nice for the price

My daughter is 10 years old and 54 inches tall. I got her the kids large and it fits great. It’s also a nicer quality than some of the nylon looking ones I’ve seen. Think of those Snuggie Blankets… it’s pretty much that material. Not nearly the quality of the robes from the official store, but a good deal that doesn’t cost $100+ And it will be warm for our freezing Halloween. We’ll see how it holds up.

Great quality! My son loves it.

Great quality! My son loves it. The costume is fleece with the burgundy/red inner trim, Gryffindor seal and clasp. I bought a large size for my 9-year old, who is around 54 inches tall and lean. It is a little long (just touches the ground), but it will give him a little room to keep using it for a few more years, if he wants. I was torn between getting the medium vs large size since he is between sizes. While the large is a little long, it isn’t dragging on the ground, and at worst I can pin it up a little for Halloween.

Decent quality robe for Halloween – even better after a couple small custom alterations.

I bought the youth size ‘L’ for my very tall 6 year old son (he’s 4 1/2 feet tall, 80 lbs). He was somewhere between the listed sizes MED & LRG, so we went with a roomier option. Since I know how to sew & have a machine, I opt’d to custom fit it, which was very easy. The maroon lining is pretty thin & cheap, so I tacked it down with a few stitches to keep it from bunching up and looking tacky around the collar. By adding a few stitches to it, it made the lining look a bit more quality. I also easily shortened the cuffs a bit and reduced the robe length to hit my sons mid-calves. Hes in kindergarten, so it allowed him to run around in it and keep it on throughout the day without the sleeves dragging through everything and getting in the way. After a few basic alterations, the robe looked like it was made just for him and he loved it. The clasp that holds the robe closed is a little disappointing….it comes apart with a good tug and it would easily be lost with any kind of regular costume use. But, for one day – it served it’s purpose!
