Ideal for crafts (and Easter)

I purchased these Easter eggs to be used to make “maracas” as an activity with my daughter’s Kindergarten class as part of World Showcase Day . Their country was Mexico. The kids had a ball. The eggs come in a bag, some assembled, some not. All were put together easily and quickly and the threading on each was perfect. In class each child chose a top half and a bottom half of an egg, put two spoonfuls of rice in the egg and assembled. Then a plastic spoon was placed on either side of the egg, cupping it and colorful tape was wrapped around the spoons and egg to make a handle. Perfect inexpensive craft. Since there are about 20 kids in the class, I anticipate a spring project with them as well. I honestly never expect too much from this type of inexpensive product online, but I was thoroughly impressed by the quality, as well as price of the eggs.

Just like the picture

In short, all were just as pictured and quite satisfactory. In detail, there were exactly 50 eggs, most still assembled, but all matching halves among those that had come apart in transit. All fit together well, and were as evenly distributed between the colors as was possible, with 8 yellow, 8 green, 8 red (dark pink), 8 orange, 9 light blue and 9 purple in the package. They arrived in a factory sealed plastic bag, with a small, colored label on the front, the sort of packaging appropriate for bulk retail sale. I opened the bag, sorted and counted them, mostly for the benefit of this review. All I checked were clean, inside and out. There is a small hole, (about 1/16 inch diameter), just off center in both the top and bottom halves. This may be to facilitate attaching decorations, stringing them on a wire, or reducing the choking hazard. There are no instructions included to explain its purpose, but it doesn’t affect my own application. The label has notations “ages 3+”, and “safety tested & phthalate compliant”. Size is comparable to an ordinary chicken egg. I ordered these on a Sunday evening and they were at my door by the following Thursday.

I received what is pictured!

I guess it’s hit or mess based on the reviews on what you get. I received 50 eggs that all matched up. They came in a pretty equal variety of colors which included yellow, green, purple, orange, pink, purple, and blue. I did not receive any white, and didn’t care to. They snap really well, and stay closed even with heavier treats inside. Easy to open for little hands. Finally, someone mentioned the eggs did not have holes. Mine do- each with a small hole on the top and the bottom. Thought I’d mention this in case this is of importance to you. I’ve used Easter eggs before for a science project and it was important that they do not have holes- these wouldn’t have worked!

Good buy

I felt these were a pretty great deal for 50 eggs compared to ones I’ve seen in store. I like that the egg halves stay attached when you open it so you don’t lose it. I do agree with another reviewer that if you have a boy, or a child that would want more blue and green eggs, then this may not be the set for you. The pack I received was full of mainly pink, purple, yellow, and white. I have a daughter so it worked out. I would buy these again next year.
