Match these wooden puzzle pairs to make mastering letters and their sounds as easy as A, B, C. The puzzles are self-correcting–each piece has only one match that fits–so children can play independently and learn at the same time.

Good learning toy

My kids love these, especially my 5 year old on the autism spectrum (loves putting things in sequence). A dedicated child could peel the picture applique off the wooden pieces, however…then you might be challenged to draw the picture on there yourself. Good thing I can draw feathers okay 😊

great teaching tool for self study or with teacher

Very impressed with the quality of this teaching tool — self correcting really works and the words printed on the bottom of each picture helps students identify matching letter (and bonus lower case is used in spellings so they don’t just learn to look for caps!) Working together with a teacher or alone for self study a child can practice fine motor skills as they master letter identification.

Fit Melissa and Doug Expectations

Nice quality as most Melissa and Doug toys are. The puzzles are made out of thin wood, not cardboard or something so that will be very nice for durability. Not sure what it means about self-correcting because all of the puzzle cuts seems to be pretty much the same. But I would buy this again.

So far it is very sturdy and great for my toddler

So far it is very sturdy and great for my toddler. I wish it had a divider in the middle because the pieces don’t stack perfectly and the lid will not close sometimes. It does come with a clear, thick plastic, sliding lid. I like that the pictures have the words written underneath and the font is large enough to read. The box is a good size and fits under the coffee table.
