MAJOR ERROR

let me start by saying my daughter LOVES this puzzle. She plays with it A LOT. However, I was very disappointed to find a picture of a pig next to the word cow and a picture of a cow next to the word pig. For children just learning to read and write this is confusing. Overall, yes I would recommend this product. Just be sure to check for accuracy.

Jump started my son’s word building. 3 year old LOVES these.

Bought these for my 3 year old son’s birthday. He LOVES these. He is obsessed with letters, however prior to this I could not get him to spell words with the various letters he has. I got him a leapfrog product with magnetic letters that allows you to build a word, but he just put in the letters he liked and identified them. This product forces him to actually spell the words. I was shocked that he knew the words without the pictures. He is spelling tons of words now.He also likes to build words from his Your Baby Can Read videos.

No lid makes it hard to keep pieces together

I gave four stars because the product itself is superior. I enjoy sitting with my son and assembling words out of letters. With that said, there is absolutely no way to store all of the little letters unless you yourself purchase another bag/use a ziploc bag. Better packaging would consist of a way to store the pieces, there needs to be some sort of lid

Nice well made wooden toy

I was surprised how nicely made these wooden spelling boards were. We had none of the issues that other customers mentioned (no misspellings or any other problems). My son enjoyed placing the letters in the right spots, its like a puzzle for him – we got it when he was just over 2 years old. He had learned his letters recently, and enjoys playing with them. He doesn’t understand the concept of spelling fully, but knows what letter goes where. Now he uses the letters to play with on his own in other games (he likes to take them and place them over other 4 letter word puzzles he has). It is a nice addition, as it has quite a bit of letters, lots of multiples to spell out different words.

great educational toy

My daughter is 2 1/2 and she already recognizes the letters and places them where they go. She reads me what each wooden card says because the picture next to it really helps me. I find that using one wooden card at a time is better than letting her play with all of them at once because she can get overwhelmed with all the letter scattered around. I select a few extra letters to have her figure things out on her own. I can see her self-esteem just rise whenever she completes a puzzle on her own. All the wooden cards were perfect, just be careful with the letters because they are a bit fragile and the wood can easily start to peel off. Overall, great toy for those parents who want their children to be ahead of the curve and have their children have fun while learning.
