My two year old loves this! My kiddo is dexterous like you wouldn’t believe, and has a passion for opening and closing doors as well as removing covers and lids (electrical socket safety plugs, the backs of remotes, change purses, bottle tops, baby wipes) and opening clasps (wallet, watches, bracelets). If your child is the type who’s always looking for new and exciting ways to raise your blood pressure with feats of exquisite motor control, this latchboard is a great way to redirect that energy and curiousity.

My kid liked it for 2 weeks

I have busy 2 year old and at first she really loved this toy. It’s fun to figure out the locks and open and close the doors. All the locks are different which makes them think hard and figure out how to do each one. This toy took her about 2 weeks to fully figure out and then she put it aside and doesn’t go to it much anymore. Note: My kid is busy and trying to figure it all out. She knows how to use doors, locks, drawers, lights, almost it all. So if your child isn’t like this, they may love it and this will keep them occupied for longer than 2 weeks. Aside from that, the package is just as described, packaged well and came in pristine shape and shipping.

Great toy, hours of entertainment!

I got this for my 2 year old nephew and he loves it! He constantly comes to open and close all the latches, even his 8 year old sister likes playing with it! The only downfall is that it is a bit heavy! For him to play with it we usually have it on the coffee table and if he pulls it off which messing with one of the locks he has a hard time picking it up because of the weight. Some of the latches are a little hard to maneuver, but that’s part of the fun for the kids. We were worried about having some locks on here that we have around the house but didn’t have any problems. Great purchase both kids love it! Very well made and sturdy!

Engaging toy — keeps infant’s attention for 10-15 min at a time!

My 9 month old is fascinated by this activity board — I store it in a box on the floor full of board books that she can reach. She pulls this one out all the time. She can only manage the latches on #3 and #6 by herself, but she loves the sounds they all make and will open and shut all the doors if I unlatch them for her. I know she’s technically too young for this toy, but it’s a great activity for us to do together . . . and I know it will grow with her as she develops fine motor and cognitive skills.

I got this for The Little Granddaughter who (like probably all toddlers) can’t bear to be locked out/shut out/kept out of anything, whether it’s doors, drawers, or containers. Anything closed is meant to be opened, obviously, and I wash out little plastic jars, tubes and bottles for her to open and close to her heart’s content. I’m not sure where the 3 years of age recommendation comes in, because she’s 18 months and I think any baby who like fiddling with things would have fun with this, and I suspect a 3 yr. old would be bored silly with it – it’s too easy. She loves it. Her Dad mounted it on the wall at her height so it wouldn’t slide around while she uses it. All the locks & latches work perfectly. I hope they come out with another one a little more complicated, perhaps; at least for a toddler her age this will be outgrown within weeks. Great toy for the price, especially for manual dexterity and small motor control.

Bought this for my son. He was about 17 months when he started to play with it and now 5 months later still loves it. It is fun to watch him try to figure out how to undo the latches (he’s mastered 3 of them). This is also a high quality piece. It is thick wood and pretty heavy for a toddler toy, but it will also last for years. The latches are well secured. This will definately be a hand-me-down item.
