Stronger Signal Indeed!
Highly recommend getting this for your Spark controller. It brings peace of mind when flying and a confidence that your drone will go the distance without fears of it flying away or losing signal. Have flown with the new antennas over 15 flights (3 weeks) and the success rate has been 100% so far.
Definitely improves range for DJI Spark
Works as advertised. Dramatically increases range for me. Watched a Youtube video of a demonstration and he was able to get his DJI Spark over 2 miles away. I’ve only taken mine about 1 mile out, though. Around the neighborhood with lots of trees and other signal obstructions, the signal stays strong with no drop-out. Would recommend.
This Product Works as Advertised
I originally purchased one to use with my DJI Spark and it made a decided difference in signal strength on long range flights. What constitutes long range of course varies with conditions and the setting. As other drone owners likely know, your effective control range is affected by frequency band (2.4 vs 5.8 Gigahertz), interference on the specific channel used in connecting with the drone and potential signal blockages between the operator and the drone. If you are flying in a city with a lot of WiFi pollution, or if there are hills, trees or buildings between the controller and the drone, that can severely limit the range.
I got 9,000 feet! With my spark
I didn’t do a direct comparison but I was getting 3000 feet in the city without the range extender. With the range extender I got to 9000 feet when I was out In the mountains. For $9 dollars you can’t go wrong, it makes the signal very directional so you don’t want to use it all the time, only when you’re going really far distance. Great buy! (used with the dji spark)
3 miles that the mavic will go but have not felt comfortable taking it that far yet
My drone was 2.6 miles away and was down to 1/5 bars of signal and losing video. I quickly put this on the controller and my signal went up to 4-5/5 bars with HD 1080 video feedback. I flew it as far as 3.4 miles and never dropped below 4/5 bars. Will likely reach the advertised 4.3 miles that the mavic will go but have not felt comfortable taking it that far yet.
Gave me the boost I was looking for in a signal congested area.
Did an apples to apples range test of sorts yesterday with this signal booster. Before the booster (granted, it was several weeks ago, so something else could have changed), I went 700 ft in my neighborhood before encountering a “strong interference” message. With this signal booster on the RC yesterday, I went over 2000 ft before encountering this message. I still need to do more testing, but overall, I am pleased – especially for the cost.
Will X2 the flying distance with Mavic Pro
I have had the antenna boosters for a few months and now that the weather has warmed up, the mavic is getting more use. I was only getting about 6000ft distance with using the stock antennas and having return to home kick on. With the boosters on I consistently go out to 15,000ft with perfect video and control. I am so amazed that these $7 boosters work so good. Thought that I had to buy the Sunhans wifi boosters (3 watt) to get some distance but not now. I am content with how far my Mavic goes now. 2 thumbs way up!
As long as your pointing in the general direction of your drone, these things really do work! It’s probably important to note though that though these improve the range from remote to drone when you face it, if the drone is behind you, the range will be significantly reduced.
Surprise They Work
I wondered if these really worked. Others reviews were mixed.
