The difficulty of buying a Magic 8-Ball through the web is that you cannot ask it the most important question of all: “Should I buy you?” Perhaps Amazon asks each 8-Ball the variant “Should I send you to customer XYZ?” before packing. We can only hope.

Great fun for kids from 5 to 95 (and beyond)

When I was seven years old I received a Magic 8 Ball for Christmas. As soon as I unwrapped it, I ignored every other present under the tree for the next half hour, so absorbed was I in the 8 Ball. Fast-forward some quarter of a century later when my own son was seven. I passed my 8 Ball down to him. That’s how durable it is.

This is simply a classic! I never had one as a kid, and as a result I was unfocused and directionless. Fortunately, I now have one in my office, and it helps me greatly in my professional life. I highly recommend the Magic 8 Ball for kids of all ages, but be sure to note that if you know the answer to the question before asking, the crystalline matrix of the special magical blue solution will become deionized, and thus, cause the Magic 8 Ball to generate random, spurious, and possibly incorrect answers. Fortunately this is a highly buffered solution and resets to a neutral pH after every question, thereby restoring functionality.

My 8 Ball was perfect. My friend ordered one and received it yesterday and it was in Turkish!! Every word on the box is English. We are in the heart of Alabama folks the thing should have come with Rosetta Stone. Truth.

My friend, who is living in an assisted-living home, and I were discussing toys that we enjoyed during our childhood. She asked me when the Magic 8 Ball was invented. I researched the topic and learned that it was invented in 1946. I sent her the Magic 8 Ball. She has had such fun with it, as she has introduced it to some of the people in the home who did not know anything about the toy. My friend uses it as a conversation piece and enjoys the responses she receives from others. It’s great to know that an old toy can still bring joy to people over 68 years old. Try it!

1. The Magic 8 Ball Will not function correctly if asked a question to which you already know the answer (i.e. “am I fat?”)

When I saw that a Disney Frozen Magic 8 was being sold, I decided to buy myself the Magic 8 Ball. I always played with my friends’, but never owned one of my own. I justified my purchase by telling myself I’d gift it to a grandchild. Now that it’s here, I decided to keep it for myself. I’m going to sit it on an end table or coffee table where friends & family can have fun with it too.
