My baby loves his AUTHENTIC Jellycat stuffed animal. Sadly, my father purchased one for my son for Christmas on Amazon through the seller JSDY, and it was a counterfeit. Trying to resolve that issue currently. In the meantime, my son now enjoys his long-awaited “lovey.” I’ve attached photos of the authentic Jellycat from Hippo Tails vs the fake Jellycat from JSDY. (Fake on Left, Real on Right). Loving the real deal
Toddler’s beloved best friend
I feel like I can write the definitive review of this, as “Ralph,” as ours is named, has been my 3.5-year-old son’s beloved best friend from birth. This bunny is so, so, SO soft, and has a very cute, expressive face. My son’s bunny goes with him everywhere, night and day. After a lot of chewing, loving, playing, and washing (more on that in a minute), its fur is a bit tangled now, almost like it’s in little tiny dreadlocks (See photo). It is not plushy, fluffy soft any more, but it is still soft in a different way, and the ears are still silky. We have the medium size, and while it’s been “hugged down” a bit and is smaller now than it was initially, it seems like a really good size for a lovey to me. It is small enough that we never worried about our son smothering himself with it when he was a baby, but large enough so that it is easy for him to find it in the crib or bed and play pretend with it (the proportions of the bunny are good for this: the long arms mean my son can make it pretend to do a range of human activities: waving, clapping, cartwheels, eating, driving a toy car, etc.). We wash ours by hand submerged in the sink, spin it on gentle in the machine, then dry it on low in the dryer. I don’t think the drying helps the fur– it may well stay softer if it is line-dried, but since we always need it for bedtime we have to use the dryer. It has held up great. It has never shed any fur, the nose is still pink, the tail still washes out white, and none of the seams are frayed. This is all after, I would like to stress, a lot of really intense loving. My younger son has a jellycat giraffe in the same size that he has aggressively teethed on every day for 14+ months; it too, is holding up great. So, in sum: these are wonderful, soft, sweet animals, and I couldn’t ask for nicer lovies for my kids. They do wear down a bit, they will look loved, but they are sturdy enough to withstand washing and all the love a kid can dish out. We would really highly recommend them.
sweet sweet sweet!!
Sweetest bunny ever!
i had my last floppy wabbit when i was seven years old, sixty years ago. we held each other every night so what was under the bed would not grab me. it got me through many a dark night. for years we slept, as quiet as mousies as we could. one day i came home from school. towards bedtime i could not find bunny. i looked every where. then, i asked my mother. she said “i threw it away in the trash, it was “dirty”. well it smelled like me,so i guess i was throwed out too. i could not stop crying. this! soft floppy bunny (medium in size) is the same first and only bunny i ever had. exactly. where ever it went, to the dump, it has found its way back.
Great bedtime buddy
We needed to find a back up for our son’s bedtime bunny, which he received as a gift. The medium size was a match and now the original can get a ‘bath’.
Awesome! Medium size for small hands is best.
I initially ordered a medium beige bunny, and it is so loved we now have several other jellycat lovies. I just purchased a “backup” in case something happens to the original. This time I ordered the large since my kiddo is bigger now and I think the medium is still a better fit for smaller hands, it seems easier to grab, though the large is better to snuggle with. I have never been disappointed with a jellycat. They hold up well, even after several washes, I just put them on delicate settings and though they lose their super softness, they are still just as loved. The picture is of the original medium bunny and the new large bunny.
I was ifie on what size to buy. I wanted it to be big enough for my 20 month old to hug but not too big to carry everywhere. This medium bunny measures 11 1/2 inches foot to head (according to my measurements). I’ll probably still purchase the 15 inch bunny for when she’s older.
