Baby’s first Uke

Already a fan of First Act I picked this up for my son who was a year and a half and had gotten ahold of Mommy’s Uke. It holds a tune just fine, it sounds like the real deal, and best of all it takes the abuse of a toddler who thinks he is a subtle, delightful blend of rockstar and King Kong. We got the Dory one, mostly because it was cute and cheaper, we named it “Blue”. 10/10 do recommend.

Wonderful "Baby Guitar" For Toddlers

My daughter’s been picking up our big guitars and dragging them around the house since she turned about 18 months old, so we bought this little ukulele for her in hopes she’d focus on it instead. It worked! She loves her “Baby Guitar” and carries it with her. Of course, the strings are just fishing line, and they probably won’t continue to stay in tune all the time, but it does play well for being a kids ukulele. She really loves it.

Cute, but ultimately junk due to cheap plastic strings.

It’s small and very cute. However, the plastic strings are fragile. My 4yo is generally pretty gentile with her toys but it didn’t take long until she broke the e string and the b wasn’t far behind. The plastic is just not very strong. I couldn’t even attempt to tune it. Not that I’d expect to do much with a kids ukele, but this is bad. I ended up stringing it with metal strings which cost more than the ukele. If I had it to do over, I’d have bought her a small kids guitar with metal strings.

Great first guitar for a young child!

Our toddler loves this mini guitar. It is a real ukulele. It is well made but lightweight and is about 20 inches long by 7 inches across, which is a good size for most toddlers. It even has functional tuning gears. There are many designs of well known animated characters to choose from and prices vary by design, up to $45 online and in retail stores. We chose Barbie because that design was on sale for $9 via Prime. It is currently $16.88 via Prime and worth every penny. We followed the advice of another reviewer and replaced the original strings with nylon soprano ukulele strings from Amazon, for around 4 bucks. The guitar does not come with a guitar strap but our toddler plays it fine, sometimes setting it on the floor and playing it like a dulcimer. We are making a guitar strap out of wide fabric ribbon and adhesive-back Velcro. Should work for the purpose of play.

This is an inexpensive little uke. I got it for my granddaughter who is fascinated by stringed instruments but at 3 can’t really play even a quarter size one. This was just to keep her interested with one of her very own. It’s sturdy, plastic strings, but has a decent sound for a “toy” instrument.

Can strum it

I got this little guitar for my daughters fourth birthday and she is very happy with it. Now my six year old wants one since the strings actually let you strum them to take the sound. Its a good way to start them on music.
