The manual also includes 14 pages of theory and facts, a 4 page quiz, 7 pages of experimental activities illustrating uses of levers and linkages. Learn how Levers can be used for increasing an applied force or changing the direction of motion. Find out how you can create models with complex motion by connecting many levers together and learn how these Linkages can be applied to various machines. Build 16 WORKING MODELS such as a seesaw, a movable weight scale, a wheelbarrow, a parking gate, a toy with moving figures, a pantograph and two types of linkages and 8 STRUCTURE MODELS. Or add some imagination and make something new. – The Engino Building System was invented by Costas Sisamos, a former teacher and engineer for the purpose of helping students build technological models creatively and easily to experiment and learn about science and technology in a way that includes all the benefits of play. This product is great, the book is educational. I would have arranged the educational portion leading into each design/model, but that’s not really an issue. What is an issue is getting the pieces apart to make the second model after building the first. Some of the pieces just DO NOT want to come back apart. Prying them apart by sliding a butter knife in between is not really ideal. (Edit: I’m not observant. There is a tool included to get the pieces apart! I saw it featured on the box while doodling around at the table. Oops! I thought it was a claw attachment for the crane model.)

Built these with my 10-year-old step daughter and taught her about the topic, some of which I knew and additional information the set helps you understand and helps explain the mechanics of things you know but might not be able to clearly explain.

we would really give it a 4.5… design and concept is great, but my 10 year old daughter had to go to her mom (wifey poo) and mom had to use a tool to separate the pieces, as mentioned in other reviews. Suggest a design change for that…..

First kit was a hit with my 10 year old son. It was a challenge, but he stayed with it and really liked what he built. Also got him off the video games for a few hours, and that’s always a plus. He’s looking forward to the next one!

Very nice kit, the iOS app makes building easy with the interactive step by step guide. The pieces can be hard to put together and take apart, but overall it is a fun kit.
