Wherever You Go The DJI Mavic Pro is a small yet powerful drone that turns the sky into your creative canvass easily and without worry, helping you make every moment an aerial moment. Its compact size hides a high degree of complexity that makes it one of DJI’s most sophisticated flying cameras ever. 24 high-performance computing cores, an all-new transmission system with a 4.3mi (7Km) range, 4 vision sensors, and a 4K camera stabilized by a 3-axis mechanical gimbal, are at your command with just a push of your thumb or a tap of your finger. POWERFUL Fly for miles. From your pocket. Inside the Mavic’s pocket-sized remote controller is DJI’s brand new OcuSync transmission technology, with a range of 4.3mi (7km) and Full HD 1080p video streaming. No bumps and scrapes When you know what’s in front of you, you won’t bump into it. The same is true of the Mavic. Using Flight Autonomy it can see obstacles as far away as 49ft (15m) in front, so that it can fly at up to 22mph (36kph) while avoiding the things it sees. Absolute Precision Flight Autonomy technology means the Mavic can hover precisely in more environments, and automatically land almost exactly where you took off. Stay flying longer Why fly for 10 or 15 minutes when you can fly for up to 27? With the Mavic you can. Use every single pixel The Mavic is the only drone of its size to carry an integrated high-precision 3-axis mechanical camera stabilization system, giving you crystal clear photos and smooth videos, without losing a single pixel.
Does everything the Phantom 4 does but in a much smaller package, camera is fantastic, I think I’m gonna sell my Phantom 4…

I’ve been flying drones for a while now, I have and have had a lot of drones from different manufacturers…and as far as DJI goes I’ve had the Phantom 2, Phantom 3, Phantom 4 and now as of yesterday the Mavic Pro. I placed my pre-order with DJI on the very first day and waited patiently until it arrived at my door yesterday afternoon. Now the first thing I’ll comment on is the size of the box it comes in…it’s a lot smaller than I expected (I actually didn’t think this was the Mavic when I first got the package)…but after opening the box, there it was in all its glory…the little wonder that is the Mavic Pro.
Get the most out of your new Mavic Pro drone

Many buyers of the Mavic Pro have written and explained what a great drone this is. I won’t repeat any of that. Instead do this to get the most use and enjoyment out of this fantastic piece of technology. Take the time to view the many tutorials on You Tube that explain the amazing features this drone has to offer. The best videos I found were posted by the following people. Drone Valley, Ready-Set-Drone, Timothy Sunday. Ed Ricker, Billy Kyle and last but not least DJI Tutorials. These people will give you the confidence needed to get the most out of your drone and also what accessories you should buy to protect your drone from damage. In my opinion because the drone sits so close to the ground a landing pad which will prevent dirt from getting sucked into your drone and protect your delicate gimbal when landing in the grass or dirt is a must. A aftermarket gimbal cover with an opening in front of the camera lense adds more protection for the gimbal without blocking the cooling fans air intake. Landing gear extenders raise the drone and add 1 1/4″ to it’s ground clearance which is more than double. If you fly indoors or outside near trees, a set of propeller guards is a good investment. Finally in addition to the 1 year standard warranty covering factory defects, DJI offers a “Care” package for $99 which amounts to insurance that will replace your drone up to twice if you destroy it in a crash or drowned it in water for a deductible of $79 the first time and $129 the second. Follow my advice and learn from the available videos while you wait for your Mavic to arrive or as soon thereafter as possible and you will be very happy with your new drone.

I just received mine today direct from DJI (not Amazon). This drone is amazing, even compared to the Phantom 4 (I’ve had one for about 6 months now).
Fantastic purchase with which I continue to be very satisfied!
Short response…I absolutely love the drone. Small and compact for carry anywhere in a very small backpack. The included shoulder bag is nice but frankly given that I carry several other (although very small) accessories it does not work for me. For me, the best solution is a small back pack. To protect the drone and batteries I purchased two small purpose specific semi-hard cases for my four batteries…two batteries in each case. I also have a small semi-hard shell case for the drone (with props on). In addition, I purchased a semi-hard shell case for the controller. This way I can throw them in any backpack and they are protected. This allows me to also throw in my DSLR camera and a few lenses if I want to carry it as well. If you are looking at the Mavic, you have probably already looked at the numerous videos posted on YouTube so I am not going to go through the specs or performance. The Mavic is easy to fly and gets great video and pictures. For what most people do with drone video and pictures the pictures are absolutely fantastic. Best video and pictures of any drone out there…NO. If you want absolute “top of the line video” you are going to pay thousands more. If you want better video without paying thousands more then you could go with the DJI Phantom Pro or Pro +, a Yuneec, or a few others. There are plenty of YouTube comparisons. Either of these will set you back a few hundred more but will give you much better video output if that is what you are seeking. To the average user the difference in video quality is probably not worth the investment…except for empty bragging rights. I went through the exact same process of evaluation and for me the conclusion was simple…Mavic is the best value for me (easy carry-convenience, great video/pictures, great aerial performance, and competitive price). This does not mean there are not some other great drones out there…just sharing my process for why I bought the Mavic and I am still very happy with my purchase. When you get deeper into how you use your drone you can then put more money into something you consider as a better value for you. Down the road the drones will get better and better but that will always be the case. My bottom line…I have the funds to buy anything I want but I bought something with great aerial performance and video/photo output to meet my current needs. (JUST TO BE CLEAR, I purchased a few cheap drones on which I learned how to fly and not risk costing me hundreds in investment if I crashed. In that case I really didn’t care about the on-board camera or even if it had one…I just wanted something that was low loss risk on which I could practice. I crashed a lot but got better.)
A marvel of modern technology.
What can I even say… It truly is a marvel of modern technology. I had gotten pretty good with a Syma X5C toy drone, and that was good to learn to fly on, but this is much easier to fly and also so incredibly superior in every other conceivable way that it is not even appropriate to make any further comparison.
