A terrarium is a miniature garden in a simulated natural environment. The Grow N’ Glow Terrarium is a complete kit for helping kids to create their very own miniature eco-system. It’s so easy! You just assemble, decorate, water and watch it grow! It’s a fun way to teach kids about botany, eco-systems and the life cycle of plants. Kids love to see how things work and especially how the magic of seeds, soil, sun and water will blossom into green plants! This is a great lesson in cause-and-effect, responsible stewardship and delayed gratification, since the terrarium needs to be misted each day for the seeds to sprout and grow. Like keeping a pet, the plants will only thrive if they’re given water each day – but no worries – if they forget to water it they learn the importance of water to the life cycle! And when they do water it, the seeds begin to shoot up in 3 to 4 days. After assembly, there are delightful garden stickers and glow-in-the-dark stars to embellish your terrarium further. During the day, when the terrarium is in full light, it soaks up light for the plants and also soaks up light in the glow stickers. Then at night the stickers will glow and it looks like an enchanted little lightning bug house!! The Grow and Glow Terrarium is the perfect STEAM activity that mixes art and science. This terrarium kit is a great project for homeschoolers working on a botany unit, or for anyone who’d like to have a sweet little decorative terrarium by day and a glow-house by night! Everything you need is included for 2 full planting life-cycles, so you can plant your terrarium and watch it grow, then do it all again in a month or so, depending upon how long your plants thrive. The Creativity for Kids Grow and Glow Terrarium is kid tested and safe. Since 1976, Creativity for Kids has proudly created safe and innovative products that meet or exceed U.S. Safety Standards and encourage creativity and imagination in children. Your child will develop their fine motor skills, enjoy using their creative side to build and construct their own terrarium and watch it grow! This craft kit is recommended for ages 6 to 96.

I sent this to a special little girl named Alexa. She just got over a fight with cancer. She loves it !!!! It was delivered 7/08/15 and grew this tall 8 days later. I recommend this to all children as a very special gift.
My son loved watching the plants grow.

Fun and educational, but a word to the wise – you only need to use half of the contents so that you can grow the terrarium twice.
Great Little Project
My son LOVED this and I loved that he was into the project itself. Keeping him into anything educational is GREAT. He explained the process to me and what to expect as they were working on this in school already which is why I purchased in first place, I wanted to see what he learned in class. He really enjoyed this, he wished it were bigger but for me I felt it was perfect size and they do provide enough seeds to do this project at least 2 times.
Fun, but a couple things to note…
This is finally growing and my daughter is delighted with it. It was fun to set up but it takes a couple weeks for the seeds to sprout into anything significant. The mister it comes with is cute but it’s too hard for my daughter to use (she is four) and it doesn’t sufficiently water the plants either. I think the only reason they are growing now is because we watered them well from the faucet. We tried to do the half portions of all the soils and stuff so we could do a second terrarium, but there doesn’t seem to be enough for two as the instructions indicate, at least not in the jar it comes with. However, using all the materials doesn’t seem like it would leave much room for the plants to grow. We’ll probably do our second one in a smaller container. Again it was really fun to set up together and neat to see it grow.
Great Gift Idea For Little Green Thumbs
Bought two of these for our daughters. They set them up a few days after Christmas and have sprayed them like clockwork. Both terrariums are in full bloom! It has been a great tool in making them become more responsible. They are looking forward to seeing how long the plants will last! Great gift idea! Our daughters are 10 and 6-1/2.
Cute idea, my 3 year old LOVED. It’s just grass though.
My 3.5 year old son loved putting the jar together, layering the sand, soil, and seeds, then placing the garden stones and stickers. We put it in a window and nothing for about 2 weeks and then it gree very fast. I only wish the seeds were more exciting than grass. My son was hoping it was going to bloom like real garden flowers. We will probably reuse the jar with more exciting seeds.

My daughter loved creating this. This was a present for her birthday and she cherishes it! Just make sure that you create this craft outside in case anything is spilled! It didn’t happen with us, but there is sand so making this outside is wise!

Grabbed this for my niece’s Christmas present, she quickly lost interest after an hour or so of putting in work. But at least she was distracted and behaved for two hours. Now she has a half-finished terrarium on her art desk.

The Kids love these. Bought this as a christmas give and this provides them with hours of fun. They are very much into science, at only 12 years old and this lets them become creative and learn as the process goes on.
This terrarium is a great item. The seeds grow very easily and you are able to see the roots and the entire plant as they grow. Very educational for beginning gardeners.
