My 10 year old daughter did everything on her own while my 8 year old daughter needed some help in putting the ribbon on to the headband using the glue. But they both had lots of fun making their own original headbands.

Great for young crafters

My daughter, who is 8, loves creative, artsy things. However, often the art sets can be a bit too complicated for a child to understand the instructions or to do with little fingers and require a significant amount of parental help to complete.

Cute but be cautious of glue

My daughter got this product as a Christmas gift and she absolutely loved it. She is very creative, crafty and girly and this just brightened up her day. She is 7 and needed my assistance gluing the ribbon to the head band. We tried one and it turned out very nice. My only problem was the glue was not very good. The directions suggested to use tape to secure the ribbons or jewels to the headband while it was drying but this ended up being very cumbersome. I decided to use my hot glue gun which worked much better but because of that it ended up being my project and not hers because I did not want her using the hot glue. I will try fabric glue and see how that works instead. Overall, the band came out beautiful but I want her to be more independent in creating her own styles.

What a Value for $19 bucks

A fun birthday present for my daughter

A fun birthday present for my daughter. She loved making headbands from this kit. It comes with glue which is great but it is a bit difficult to use because it takes a long time to dry. We just used a rubber band to hold parts in place until they dried but a hot glue gun would be nice. Fun activity to work on with your child and my daughter’s creations turned out great. She’s very happy to wear her headbands and have them designed how she wanted. An excellent present. I highly recommend!

Fun kit but should be for older kids

If I could give this 3 1/2 stars I would. My daughter, who’s, 5 LOVES making things like jewelry, any sort of crafts, etc. She was really excited about this kit, in fact she picked it out herself as one of her gifts w/ a Amazon gift card a friend gave her. When it came in the mail, she wanted to make a headband immediately. My boyfriend’s son, who is 6, also expressed interest in it & wanted to make a headband for his mother. So all 3 of us sat down & the idea was that I would help each of them make a headband. Well, it ended up more like they both watched me trying to make headbands. They were just too young for it. It’s a lot more difficult than it looks & even I struggled a bit esp. w/ the glue that was provided. It just didn’t hold well at all. The instructions suggest you put tape over the glue as it drys so that’s what we did. But even after letting it sit for longer then they suggested, no matter what we(I) did, every time I took the tape off on my daughter’s, the ribbon unraveled. We ended up just leaving the tape on, it’s only on the bottom inside, so you can’t see it when she wears it. The other one came out better but that’s b/c we didn’t do that much with it. Just stuck on a jewel or two I think. We’ve made one more since, actually my bf’s son, wanted to make it for my daughter to surprise her and I used more glue than it says too and that seemed to work better. But after the first time, my daughter showed no interest in making another one and she really didn’t do anything for the first one except pick out how she wanted to decorate it. I would suggest it for older girls, unless you want to be the one doing all the work. And also use more glue than it suggests if you want things to stick w/out having to leave the tape on. The headbands were very pretty though & they give a lot of fun, different options for decorating them.

Great fun for young girls, even though the package says for ages 5 to 95! Cute!

Our 5 yr. old granddaughter will love this for Christmas. She & her young friends will have hours of joy putting this fun project to the test. It came in great condition even though the offer had said it was “used”. It looks like it was never opened. It is a terrific Amazon Warehouse Deal and the first item I’ve ever purchased this way.
