Enjoy all-season fun with the Big Dig! Sift sand, move dirt and shovel snow. With its sturdy metal construction, the Big Dig can handle it all! The two-handed controls make digging fun and easy. The Big Dig helps kids improve their manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination! Weight limit: 110 lbs. Some assembly required.
Slight modification, then Perfect!
Replace the screw and bolt with a locking bolt so it won’t loosen and fall off. After doing that, this has been the best toy I’ve ever bought! We put it in our wagon and take it to the neighborhood park to dig in the wood chips. Then we bring it home and dig in the sand box! We’ve had it for 3 months now and my son plays with it everyday.
Finally a sturdy, realistic toy!
Buy this one above the others! METAL! STURDY!! The seat (only plastic part) is that really ridiculous thick plastic that playgrounds are made of. We all sit on this digger. It gets dragged all around the yard by my kids. It gets extremely rough treatment and it withstands everything. I was planning on buying the other brands I’ve seen on here but THANKFULLY I chose this one. Definitely go with this one.
I love this– and so does my 5 year old grandson
I love this– and so does my 5 year old grandson. In playing around with it I was afraid it was going to be too complicated for him to figure out how to make it work, but he was amazing with it after just a few days…including “patting” it down with the bucket to level off his load in the dump truck! Lots of fun, and the fact that he can move it from dirt pile to dirt pile makes it even better. Friends have one that is cemented into the sand box and can just swivel around the box, this one works better for our situation because his piles are in various places on the farm, depending on what is going on.
We have had this for almost a year now. It is holding up well! The neighborhood kids play on it more than my kiddo so I’ve got kids from the age of 3 up to 10 playing with this and it is holding up great! It’s very sturdy and tolerates “rough” play very well. I recommend!
I have my own digger! I can get hired at a construction site!
Great fun for a 4 year old who immediately announced “I have my own digger! I can get hired at a construction site”. A little difficult to use where soil is hard, but a great sturdy toy. Bought this rather than a wheeled version so his digging area would be limited, but easy enough to move (by him) a few feet. Sturdy toy, good seat.
Great For Those Really Rough Kids
My little farmer boys are super tough on everything they touch. I’ve had this at least a year now, and it’s stayed out in the sandbox the entire time. My children (up to about age 8) still play on it and it’s never broken and still works. They aren’t exactly gentle. I wish we’d had one sooner.
This is a little hard for our four year old to use, but he really likes it. It takes a bit for kids to get the hang of it, but he really likes it. Our little guy picks up and moves mulch in his play area with it. It’s a great toy, but not as sturdy as I hoped it would be. I’m not sure how many summers it will last, but I would make sure it’s away during the winter! Overall it’s a fun toy and I would buy it again.
