I scanned all the reviews before purchasing and I recall some of the bad comments so I’d like to make it easier for people purchasing this. It’s a great toy and it’s also easy to modify almost everything on it. I’ve purchased a 5 point harness(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HEXS2I2/) for my 1 year old, and some jeep decals so far. The wheels are plastic, which I’m looking to replace at some point but I haven’t found suitable wheels yet. The rear wheels have a rubber band, I assume for traction. The turning on pavement is a little jerky and so is the stop/starting sometimes but it has good torque. Assembly was longer than stated from most people, which took me about 1 hour including unboxing. The seat is a semi hard plastic which I’m thinking of replacing or buying (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FZGLHYM) for padding or replacing the seat entirely.
Zombie response team
Very happy with this product, I had some battery issues but I called customer service and they compensated me to get new batteries and charger. I do have to say the reason I gave 5 stars is due to the great customer service. They fixed issues fast and did not give me the run around, also the jeep is well built and looks sweet. Other than battery issues my son love this thing, it mobs the badland of a back yard I have with very little issues of traction and power. To be honest I’m jealous I can’t ride with him. He loves zombies so I decked it out with some personalized zombie hitting stickers and we have our self a response vehicle
Easy to assemble
Easy to assemble. Looks nice even before my add ons (decals, plate, antenna, safety flag) He added a tail on the back! He’s only 2 but when he first saw it he said “My jeep!” Remote is great. He can work all the buttons / controls on the jeep but we need to steer it for him with the remote. He really likes the start up / rev sounds. We’ve only used it 3 times so far but the run time is more than an hour. After looking it over another battery could be mounted under the hood (there is a space for it.) If you know what you are doing a switch could be installed to toggle to the other battery for extended play time. It’s a project for next year though. Mine runs on grass ( much better with him in it) and up a slight incline. He opens the door, climbs in, and slides through the seat belt as he is small. There is a smile on his face the whole time he’s in it. This makes it well worth it. Outside of the remote, I think any malfunction would be a switch. If you can get to it it could be replaced. ( I am electrically experienced as is my brother.) Wish they had these when I was a kid! I bought the black one, it looks tougher and the decals stand out. I even bought a jeep decal for the hood from a jeep parts store.
Very Impressed, much better than name brand Powerwheels.
Very, Very, Very, Impressed with this product. Some assembly required, but it’s not that bad. I would note that the front axle & steering needed some WD 40 to get it moving easy until it was broken in. EVERYTHING works exactly as advertised, if not way better. It has excellent torque, and traction. Kid nearly drove clean over the couch. It has a real, sprung suspension, lights, radio, MP3 player w/ pre-recorded kid songs (my daughter likes them the most) Functional media and horn buttons on the steering wheel. Just tons of Detail you don’t see in the name brand units you see at Walmart, ect…. Unit can easily support up to or even more than 80 pound child.
Awesome head turning Jeep!
This is a head Turner. We took it to the park for his birthday and all the kids wanted a turn and the parents loved that there was a remote. We have only had it for 2 days but it’s pretty cool. There are a few things that would make it better: the right wheel has a bit of a gap in the pin and the washer. I’m planning on getting a bushing to space the gap. Not to big of a deal just the wheel slides lightly when turning. Not enough to make it unmanageable but enough to notice. The remote seems to have a little bit of issues at times, like it has a weak signal or something because it will be going full speed and then slow down or stop. It happens usually after driving it for about 15-30 minutes straight. I also seen a review saying that after 5 months the remote broke so that’s a bit concerning.
Love the remote control!
Once we started looking at power ride on cars, I knew I had to get one with working doors and a radio/noise maker. This one had that and the parental remote control, so it was the winner. The kid (2 years) could spend all day on this: open door, climb in, close door, start engine, turn off engine, open other door, climb out, close door, run around to first door. He isn’t really ready for driving or steering yet, but it’ll come soon! I’m glad for the parental control, I can drive him around a little, or help him when he is testing out his driving skills. The doors latch with magnets, which I think is much better and likely to last longer than many of the others we looked at (plastic on plastic latches). It takes a lot of effort for the kid to open the door, which I think is a good thing! He likes that the lights turn on and the radio and horn work. I wish it had a little more power — or more grip on the wheels. It can hardly drive on our gravel road, or if the grass needs mowed, or if there’s a tiny incline. I haven’t taken it all the way to pavement to see how it works there, but seems like it would be better on that. Assembly wasn’t too bad, maybe 45 minutes to an hour with one person.
This thing is great!!!
This thing is great!!! I saw some negative reviews, so I was a little leery at first. I bought this for my 22 month old grand son and he loves it. Since he’s quite a bit too small to operate it alone and since it’s remote controlled, actually, we both love it. We live in the city, so we go from front lawn to front lawn. Jeep works great in the grass, great on the sidewalks, great over bumps, and great from grass to sidewalk to bump and back again. I sometimes drive it at the top speed, fully charged and, just like a real Jeep, it flexes and holds the terrain. Those over-sized tires make the difference. They also help with stability. I can see where assembly can be a little intimidating to a none do-it-yourself-er. Here’s my advise: throw away your assembly instructions and watch the YouTube video on assembly. Takes about 35 minutes to an hour-ish (depending on you). Just remember to charge it a FULL 18 hrs. The battery charging system is not very sophisticated and relies you to stay on top of your charge time. If you want some further info, look at the reviews on the pink one. A guy did some modifications to allow you to monitor your charge and extend the battery life. Some really good info. Personally, I say put away any doubts on this ride-on, your kid(s) won’t be disappointed, Still, I say buy the 3 yr. warranty for additional peace of mind. I did.
Love it! I had it built in advance for …
Love it ! I had it built in advance for Christmas 2017. Looks huge. Wont fit through my door. The reason I purchase this one in stead of the Power Wheels was because of the remote control. My son is only 18 months and would not be able to steer it. I tried all the functions and everything works fine. No dents or scratches when I received. I paid to get it assembled. It took my handyman half an hour, it looked pretty easy. I just didn’t want to be bother. Christmas is going to be great in my house for sure! I really happy with my purchase.
