I’m not a quadcopter expert by any means, but I have flown a number of different models. The Syma X5C-1 is the best handling and easiest to fly of any of the entry level quadcopters I have flown. I like the UDI U818A and have three. They are fun to fly, forgiving, and have survived many crashes. However, since I bought the Symas, I now have two X5C-1s, I rarely fly the U818A. The X5C-1 is more stable, easier to hover, handles the wind better, and can survive some rough treatment. It will carry an 808 Keychain camera if you want upgraded video, but will not fly well with a Mobius or anything heaver. With a little practice, it can be flown inside or out.

If you are looking at your first mini-quad, as I was when I purchased this, then your looking at the right product. Let me start off by saying that I have had zero experience with quads before this and after about 2 weeks I have mastered my orientation and am having a blast each time I take this thing out. I was immediately hooked when I first went outside with it, but a tip is to stay low to the ground and use the prop guards and landing gear for a good amount of time until you can handle this mini-quad. Parts are plentiful and really cheap as well, so don’t forget to get some extra parts kits for those beginners’ crashes because we all have them!

This quadcoptor has been awesome. I lost it in December and couldn’t ever find it in my neighbors woods. It survived the Tennessee ice storm and all of the other weather conditions we’ve had. I finally found it today, May 8th and it surprisingly still works perfectly! This Syma is tough!!!

I’m new to quadcopters but this one is awsome!! It great for a beginner shipped right on time and is super cool. Only bad thing is its kinda small but not to small great size to learn to control a new toy. Highly recommend! Having a blast leaning how to use! Banana for scale.

Total drone newbie still loving it a year later

Bought this for our 9 yo for Christmas 2015. Within minutes we both had it down and we were good enough to even fly it indoors.

Very good "first" quad copter

Ordered on 7-13-15, received on 7-15-15. Preface: I have never flown a quad copter before but I have a few hours in “real” turbine helicopters. I bought this to train with prior to upgrading to a larger, more capable quad.
