My daughter’s favorite toy!

This is long, but you will know everything that you need to know:
Order this instead of the fisher price one!

I was going to order the fisher price picnic basket for my baby back at Christmas time even though I had not seen it in person but this one ended up going on sale so I purchased it instead. I’m glad I did now that I’ve seen the other one in person. This one is large and has much more going on. She loves pulling out all the stuff and chewing on the foods (she’s only 9 months). I can see her using this in the future since the basket is bigger and maybe having some educational value then. I have caught her putting the pieces in the right spots on the plate already though (circle, triangle, square).
Great playset with lots of replay value that even babies will love

I don’t think my 18-month old daughter could have loved this more. She loves to take out all the pieces, lay out the picnic “blanket” with plates on it, and then put the foods in their correct places. She pretends to bring us food to serve us, and then when she’s done, she packs everything back up in the basket and takes it to the other room …. for about 10 seconds. Then she comes right back in and does it all again with a big smile on her face like it’s the first time she’s ever seen it and is just giddy with happiness.
Must have for your little one.

This is one of those must have toys. I looked at a few different picnic baskets before buying this. I have had this for awhile now and it has been one of the most used toys in my house. This is also a really sturdy toy- after two years of use it looks brand new.
Still going strong 5 years later!

I originally bought this when my oldest daughter turned 1. She will soon be 6 and our youngest is turning 3. This set is still one of our most played with toys even after 5 years. The entire set has held up tremendously. All of the pieces are still intact and in great shape. Our 2 year old carries the basket around the house daily. You never know exactly what is going to be inside but she loves it!
It has high quality and looks super cute!

A little disappointed at first

First off, we LOVE LeapFrog toys! My daughter has Potsy, Violet, the Learn & Groove Table, the Learn & Groove Drum – and most recently this Shapes and Sharing Picnic Basket. I wholeheartedly give five stars to the other toys! I really should have tried this out in a store first though, or read more reviews, as I am disappointed that it does not share the same interactive features as Potsy (which responds as you drop the pieces into the pot). This basket really doesn’t do much at all; the songs seem very short and aren’t very engaging. My daughter is almost 14 months old and will play with Potsy the entire time I am making dinner – and has been doing so for four months. But as for the basket, she just pulls everything out, puts the pieces in her mouth, and tosses them aside. I have tried to sit down and play picnic with her to get her interested, but she just doesn’t get it. It does seem like a great, durable toy for an older toddler, so I am putting it away for now and am hoping that she will enjoy it when she better understands shapes, simple instructions, and the concept of a picnic. I will update in a few months and am really hoping to add a star or two, since we love the other toys so much.
… wish list thinking it would be something she would enjoy when she got a little older as she was …

I added this to our daughter’s wish list thinking it would be something she would enjoy when she got a little older as she was about 5 months when she received it for Christmas. I brought it out one day and this thing hasn’t been put away since. We have a picnic nearly every single day. She has shared a picnic w/ most of her friends and family at this point. It plays cute songs (though they naturally get a little annoying after a while, but there is an on/louder/off switch which we have come to love) and is easy for our daughter to grasp. She spent countless visits with the basket, opening and closing over and over again to figure out how that worked. This toy was hands-down the best addition to her collection thus far. We have purchased the same set for my 1 and 2 year old cousins and everyone loves it!
